Problems with Pulling your own Teeth
No one should have to be their own dentist or be without any dental care benefits . I’m 52 years old and this is my story. Back in 2007 I had a badly abcessed tooth. I didn’t have dental insurance and did not have a job to pay the bills. I was experiencing extreme pain in the above the neck. I began to have head aches and the infection had spread from my mouth to my right eye. My right side of my face was already swollen. So I finally decided it was time to call the dentist and make that appointment.
The dental bill was to be $240 that I did not have to spare. This was just to have a tooth pulled. The appointment wasn’t for another five days and I didn’t know if I could have tolerated the pain that long. I did’nt even have the funds for the dental procedure, no credit cards and it was the middle of the month. So I sat there and cried in pain. Well I got my nerve up and decided to pull my tooth myself. I tied a string on it just like I used to do with my own children when they were little. I almost passed out after the first pull because of the incredible pain on the side of my face. So I cried some more. I took time for a moment of silent prayer. All of a sudden I could feel the tooth sliding out. At that point it came out without any pain. I did not realize that I could have died from so much infection.
The Good Lord saved me that day so I may tell other people like me that you really don’t need to be your own dentist. That job should be left to the pros. Now I have my Ameriplan Dental Discount Plan and I can actually see a real pro now. Thank you, Ameriplan.
