Locate A Close By Boulder City Family Dentist

If you live in one of the four main cities within the immense Las Vegas Valley - Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson and Boulder City – there are probably a number of dental practices near where you work or live.

*** Hidden Dental Practices ***

You may have seen one or two, but there are a lot of practices you aren’t aware of.

That’s because regardless of the evidence that there are in excess of twelve hundred dentists in the Las Vegas Valley, their practices could be tucked away in a strip mall or hidden in a part of the local area you don’t have reason to drive through.

*** The Phone Book ***

Of course, there’s always the yellow pages.

But the greater Las Vegas Metropolitan area yellow pages contains a whopping 66 pages of dentist listings.

So, good luck using the phone book to find a local clinic.

Plus, the internet is just so much more usable than the phone book for more and more people every day – interactive, relevant, fast.

And also, only the dentists who can afford to fork over a lot of money (thousands a year) get the huge, full or half-page four-color yellow page ads that get a far better response rate.

The standard listings are all but a waste of money.

You should also remember that the ad has minimal relationship with the quality of care you can expect.

Don’t be misled…

*** The Big Valley ***

Another thing to take into consideration is that the Las Vegas Valley encompasses a lot of territory.

In fact, it’s about 600 square miles incorporating about 65 zip codes.

And while people tend to “shop” for their dental provider with as much diligence as they do their church, one must not forget convenience.

In other words, people will ordinarily travel quite a distance to get what they really desire.

*** Driving And Stress ***

Given the option, of course, not many people would want to drive across town for any reason if they didn’t need to.

And when you consider the average person’s aversion to the dentist, the last thing they want is to add a long and probably stress-filled drive to something they are already dreading – their appointment.

Alright, it’s clear that the average person doesn’t want to take on a quest to get to a dental appointment.

And so the question is posed again, how do you find a local dentist?

*** Use The Internet ***

Unless you have a friend or family member who can recommend a good nearby dentist, the internet is undoubtedly your best option for fast, thorough research.

Ok, to recap, you have four cities in a 600 square mile area with 65 zip codes and over 1,200 dentists.

Where should you start?

Go to your favorite search engine – we recommend Google because it offers certain features other search engines don’t.

*** Use The Right Search Terms ***

Enter something like: I need a dentist, or locate Henderson Pediatric Dentist.

If you are looking for a specialist, you can use terms like these: Boulder City Pedodontist or North Las Vegas implant dentist.

In fact, Google, Yahoo and MSN’s search algorithms are now so advanced, they can tell where you are searching from and display ads and listings relevant to your city.

You can try this out by just typing something like: find a family dentist, local cosmetic dentist or even just the root term itself, like: root canal specialist or crown and bridge dentist.

Another trick you can use with Google and the other large search engines – like Yahoo and MSN – is to simply type the search term and your zip code into the search field for relevant local listings.

Once you find a suitable listing, you can use the maps link to get a visual display of where the office is.

One of the great benefits of this feaure is the ability to view and print-out both a map and turn-by-turn driving directions.

So, test search terms such as these to get super focused: dental office 89163 , aesthetic dentist 89044 or you might even try something like: braces 89134.

Don’t bother with filler words, because the search engines ignore them.

The majority of searchers input grammatically correct sentences.  But really, Google (and other search engines) perform best without the use of adverbs.

*** The Search Listings ***

You should be aware of something before you go searching online for a dentist.

The web is full of poor quality sites, including the majority of dental sites.

In fact, many of the sites you may come across are really nothing more than advertising sites where only a few local dentists have a listing within the site’s directory.

In other words, only those dentists who have paid the site owner for a listing will be found on these directory types of sites.

All others will NOT be among the available choices, so you are only exposed to a tiny sample of existing dental practices.

Of course, it’s still the early days on the internet, and there are actually a small percentage of dentists who have nice websites – and the numbers are growing.

At present, though, even the dentists with their own sites often are not found in the first few pages of listings for common search terms.

*** It’s All About Marketing ***

It’s the same online as offline – if no one can find you, you don’t exist.

Clearly, becoming a dentist doesn’t also include an education in business and marketing.

So, it’s no wonder finding a suitable local dentist can end up being more of a challenge than one might initially think.

Ever wonder how some clinics seem to thrive and others to remain in the shadows?  Marketing is the key.

An added benefit of effective advertising and marketing is the additional word-of-mouth referrals for new patients from the increased flow of newly signed-up patients.

*** Persistence Pays ***

With a little effort, you too can surely locate a nearby dentist who meets your qualifications and offers what you need and want.

Hopefully, you’ve found this article to be informative and helpful.
